    Default Wheel spacers?

    Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me why you would use wheel spacers? Is it for increasing your track width? Or for better fitting of after market wheels.
    Any help, would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Simon

PS: I'm looking at 16": OZ Racing Superleggera's (hopefully from a fellow Frogger) ET18 , or Ultraleggera's (3-4kg's lighter than Std 15"'s per wheel)

As I understand it in NSW, wheel spacers are unlawful for use on the roads.
(I will try to find the RTA dictate).

    Try...
    http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registrati...vsi09_rev4.pdf

    And I quote...
"• The fitment of wheel spacers (or adaptors for dual wheel conversions) between the wheel mounting face
and the road wheel is not permitted unless fitted as original equipment by the vehicle manufacturer."

Lame. So does that mean it's for increasing the wheel track?

I wouldn't bother with spacers. Get wheels that suit the car's original specs because unless you are going to upgrade/change the geometry of the suspension the spacers will likely put the wheels out of original spec with regards to alignment etc. {toe in/out and camber are all related to OEM specs}...just my opinion though

The spacers know this, and unfailingly hand themselves in at the nearest police station, leaving you stranded by the side of the road.
