    405 Mi16 Series 2

I'm looking at going marque racing in a 405 Mi16 2 litre series 2. I've heard through Taylor's in Adelaide re-chippings a waste of time. Any suggestions for upgrades?

I'd say give Owen Wuillemin a call...

He's running an Mi16 engine in a 205 on the track and has progressively modified it. He also has a heap of experience with engines, fuel injection etc.

I missed this when it was first posted.

It depends how much money you want to spend and whether you need to be able to drive the car to work on Monday. Assuming it is a daily driver and you don't want to pull the engine apart. I would attack it in this order. Advance cam timing (talk to Owen), 2 1/4" system with high flow cat, cold air induction box and then fit a Unichip to tune for 98 RON. After that, you need to modify the head and go for a full aftermarket ECU.

Put Koni yellows on it with Eibach springs on the front, EBC slotted front rotors, disconnect the ABS and put some super sticky rubber on it.

See how it feels after that.

    Cheers,

    Cal.
