Chips for Xsara

I am wishing to find some information on a performance ship for a 2001 Xsara VTR (1.6L, 16Valve)

has anyone come across anything that will be able to help me?

I think I've seen stuff before,

Just remember, the TU5JP4 that's used in your car is probably in more PSA cars than any other engine

You've got em in the 206, 307, C3 and Xsara for a start.

Sorry can't give you anything in concrete, but there's got to be stuff out there. There are just too many of this engine out there for it to be ignored.

Cheers,

Justin

Powerchips, superchips, dude don't believe the hype - I recommend strongly that you avoid them.

If you've done your exhaust and intake, the best thing you can do is to get a Unichip installed and dyno tuned to suit Optimax.

They're $1170 or so fitted and dyno tuned.

Will increase power and throttle response, other chips have been known to decrease power!

Cheers,
Adrian

The guys overseas are often talking about these; supposedly does improve overall performance. If you were to ask an opinion on one of their lists you'd probably get some idea of what to expect from those who have them installed.

If it ain't broke, use a 12" shifter.....that usually does the trick!!

They're a pretty big reputable operation who I would imagine would be but if this was an issue, probably wouldn't sell it to you in the first place.

They mention if your vehicle has non standard modifications, such as exhaust and intake, they can make a chip to suit - so I guess in the long run it boils down to a dyno tuner and an interceptor module. I would prefer doing it this way, there's something about off the shelf products that bug me.

There is one thing about this company. Andrew Brodie, the founder doesn't operate the business any longer but he is a full on Citroen fanatic and is quite accessible via a couple of Citroen lists. The boys in UK & Europe swear by this Brodie chip. The guy that runs Puma, Dave Baker would be a very safe conveyance as he loves these 16 valve PSA motors but he's a one man show/perfectionist who'd probably want the car at his finger tips to do the whole job; thing is with Dave, it's almost worth the cost of sending it to him from what I've been told about the quality of his work; he has the reputation of being THE best in the business.
Nice thought...not very practical though mallet

Xsara, Ray Gulson in ACT may be able to help, he is the local performance vehicle specialist and also the local citroen dealer. Try his web site at WWW.GULSON.COM.AU
I am planning on buying a Xsara VTR from him in the next couple of months. what colour did you get?, are you happy with it, have you had any problems?
