    GTi-6 valves

    ok guys
are there any valves other than standard ones that are worth putting into a GTi-6 head ?
or are there valves good enough
this is without doing very much to the head
i realise that bigger valves are going to reduce bottom end torque

Only slightly. The effect isn't as bad as many people make out. Really the effect of fitting larger valves is the same as fitting a high lift cam with the same duration. Torque will usually be superior from 2500rpm up, depending on the engine set-up.

Pugrambo, whilst i can't answer your question, i know someone who could. Esscargo at Atarmon, im not sure what you think, or heard about these lads but they do rally/race 306's so i think they tinker with em enough. They recently got 220 Hp from the GTi6 motor with single throttle body!!! nice power wouldn't you say. Ring and ask them for their engine builder's name and number im sure they will be happy to help. Also ask how much the builder charged, i don;t think the Esscargo lads would have just sent it of to anyone.
Also ask YELO20 (Darren) who is rebuilding his 8V 205 gti motor, he too might of some help.
    Good luck.

ps, have you thought about a 3D angle polish on the stock valves?

Why do you want bigger valves? Have you increased the flow into and out of the head?

I wouldn't imagine that larger valves will make a big difference on an otherwise standard engine. I would be looking at getting the head ported or a bit bigger cam before getting larger valves.
