    Mi16 cooling fans

anyone got any thoughts on what is making a rapid clicking noise under my steering columnin an 89 mi16? Seems related to fans switching on and off at inappropriate times. Also 3 of the relays on the fuse board seem to be running too hot. Anyone out there with a wiring diagram for cooling sensors etc on this model/ I would ;love a copy. thanks Greg S dance

the 306's have a indicator stalk problem were if they don't return to a certain place they make the indicator relay click fast. I wiggle mine back into place and all is good. Might aply to your mi16.
try that, as for the hot relays, check connections and clean or remake connections as relays run hot if there is either a dirty contact or too much current running through it.
    Good luck.

Definitely the cooling fan controller. I've got a wiring diagram. I'll send you an email once I scan it.

Peter, I'd love a copy as well.

We're just rewiring the 205-Mi16 at the moment and are probably going to change it so that one fan comes in normally and the 2nd comes in only when needed.
