306 brakes : zimm cross-d or ate slotted?

Hi, has anyone had experience with zimmerman cross drilled or Ate slotted disks on a 306? I'm replacing my disks this week.

The first round of the Combined Sports Car Association supersprint series is on Feb 21, Oran Park. Wuillemins and I are hoping to run our 205's. Which supersprints do you run in GTi6?

I supersprint with the Porsche club. Its cheap to join and the events are well run and very regular. Comming last is easier when the other cars are 911's! There is a little mazda turbo that plays and we run in the same calss. How do I get the details about the wakefield day - I definitely want to participate.

Still no help with the brakes! I'm changing them on friday!! question question

interesting insurance point for everyone - insureres (nrma at least)do not include brakes in modifications so changing them makes no difference to your policy. refreshing news.

on the 205 break posting - ebc are medium sized in the UK. Tarox are another alternative and some guys up in Brissy are the agents and do a direct mail service.

DBA are currently designing slotted fronts for 306, expected to be for sale around June.

How did you find this out? Are you able to confirm it for us closer to June?

I rang them and asked them to make me a set and the prod dev guy said they were planning on doing the moulds and tests in March this year.

Does everyone have the same complaint about the handbrake? Its shit!

Would I be able to fit the 306 gti DBA slotted rotors onto my 306 xr? I understand I'd also need the calipers, but would it be a bolt on mod?

My handbrake doesn't feel right. It engages OK, not many clicks though, feels like its too tight. And the left wheel locks up easier than the right.

i works, but I am not satisfied with hard it clamps the rear disks unless you really give it a big yank. After the service on Fri its much tighter but compared to other cars it's pretty poor. This is only car so far that I haven't even attempted to h brake turn, given beeny tires though I might give it a go though... anyone got pair of old XT wheels and tires?

I wouldn't bother uprating the XT brakes - might as well put on harder pads and put on a better exhaust for the money.

The handbrake on mine has always been a bit soft. It's nigh on impossible to lock on any surface, whereas my old drum-braked 306 was a lot of fun. It could lock up on bitumen at 60 kmh.

I asked the Peugeot dealer if the handbrake could be tightened (without pertaining to the fact that I really wanted to drive like an idiot) and they said it was 'within specs'. Oh well.

XT brakes are fine - they just need to last more than 10K and I'll be happy. EBC pads and rotors have lasted 20K so far - still going strong.
