    205 gti gear linkage

Could somebody please help with the correct measurment for the two adjustable gearlinkage arms. I have recently fitted a quick shift kit and new arms but cannot for the life of me get a smooth change.

The most problem is experiance with 3rd gear for some reason?

If somebody can supply the measurments it would be appreciated.

    Neil,

I've read that this is documented no where and in fact you have to measure up the exact dimensions from the old linkage you take off if you are replacing it.

Given that you have changed to a quick shift it makes it worse as the throws will be different again.

You may just have to use trial and error unfortunately.

The short rod length is mean't to be 122mm centre to centre and the long rod is 284mm centre to centre. The measurements can be found on page 142 of the haynes 205 manual. If you do not have a copy of this page contact me and i can fax it to you.

    Hope it helps
