K-mac Adjustable Strut tops for 504/505/604

    Pugrambo,

Can you remember which K-mac strut top you were able to modify to fit the Pug struts? Was it Ford, BMW, Mazda, Toyota, Commodore?

I'm thinking that the next time I'm going near Rockdale I'll drop into K-mac with a 504 strut top and my Vernier calipers, and compare it with what they have there. I've found they're pretty helpful when you're trying to work out what might fit your car.

I also wonder how prone they are to being knocked out of adjustment. I've found that on cars with alot of suspension adjustment (e.g. TE Cortina) all it takes is one bump with a gutter to knock the alignment right out, whereas with cars with very little adjustment(like the 504) you can crash into gutters and do all manner of crazy stuff and the wheel alignment remains fine.

At the moment I'm thinking I'll put adjustable strut tops on my 504 "fun" car, whilst leaving fixed strut tops on my everyday 505 which will cop more abuse.

I haven't heard about the Peugeot adjustable strut top. What year models was it fitted to (1985 onwards?).

They moved to Rockdale about 5 years ago.

When I had them make my swaybar in late 1998 they were already at Rockdale, but when I visited them a couple of years before that, they were still at Taren Point.

they were not a common fitment to any production model that i know of in this country
they are available overseas though but in what models i'm not sure
i had a set in one of my 604's which i am in the process of tracking down to see if i can grab the car back again
