    Default Car Over Rev When Accelerating

    Have 93 Mazda 323 and when I put foot on accelerator car rev's high until i take foot off and it is ok again, car idles fine and in reverse is ok anyone know what this could be???

    Funny, mine stalls when I push the accelerator?? Must be some sort of new Mazda genius idea, goes faster when the gas is pushed

    indeed.. if only my pug had said syndrome of accelerating whilst the accelerator was being pressed



    Your saying that the pedel tho is in a constant position and regardless the engine climbs as if your foot is pressing it to the very floor?

    is your cable actually sticking? Carbi of injected?

    Perhaps the clutch is stuffed and the motor revs up when trying to accelerate, but does not increase speed.

    My bet is you've got a slipping clutch.

    clutch is stuffed & slipping clutch.....my initial thoughts too but the temptation was just too great to play the fool this time


    Would be the case as the engine speed increase is whilst on the move. Could need adjustment, if it has available adjustment

    Or if it is an auto, that will be it. Not likely to be the engine from that description.
