    Default xu10j4 temp issues....

    Hey all....

    Here's the symptom:

Running @ low speed, temp goes over the usual by probably 5-8 degrees.
Running at high speed, temp sits tight
Running @ low speed with ac on, temp is right
Running at high speed with ac on, temp is fine.

I thought easy as, the fans arent working...
But they do, they kick in when therye supposed to.
    Coolant level is fine
thermostat appears to work as intended...

    Any suggestions?

Maybe my guage has finally decided to pack it in...

Just a thought...I guess when the ac is on one of the fans will be running so the temp. is kept low. If it's only heating up at low speed maybe it's a problem with the water pump, or a seriously blocked radiator??

Kyle, I never thought I had temp problems in my ol' S16 until I had the radiator removed and chem treated/cleaned. The car ran much more consistantlt smoother, actually felt better to drive and needed the fans a lot less too. So perhaps as suggested by jag a good clean might be needed.... any way . - Chris

just follow the top right radiator hose too the side of the motor. there is a plastic pipe it clamps too, take that off and itl be in there. sometimes the metal squarish block it bolts too leaks, just the gasket. youl know by a coloured crustation between that block and motor. $15ish dollars for the gasket.
i speed up for round abouts, corners and chikanes
