    Default Clutch plate

My Europa uses a NG 3/Fuego 'box and drive plate to a Calibra pressure cover and engine.
Can I obtain an uprated Fuego clutch drive plate within Australia?
    If so, from where please?

What size is the Calibra Cover? I believe Fuegos ran a 215mm plate, whereas the Citroen CX 25GTI Turbo has a 235mm plate, still with the same splines. What clamp pressure has the Calibra cover? Anything over 1300Lbs would be plenty.

I have a Fiat Croma Turbo 235mm cover (1650Lbs)with the Cit plate as mentioned, on a modded 807 type motor like you should have, unless you have gone the whole hog with 2L or 2.2.

Given the weight of a Europa, and less than 200Hp I would think a complete std Fuego clutch would be ample. It is actually torque that worries clutches, or incredibly tall first gears with a lot of weight to shift.

Sorry, just reread your post. You have a Calibra engine fitted?

    Alan,
My Europa was 're-engineered' by Banks Europa of UK in '95, but it is new to me. I am rebuilding it for road and some track use.
The Calibra pressure plate and flywheel are 230 mm dia. and it has what, I guess, is a standard 215 mm Fuego friction plate on the Renault NG 3 spline.
I shall probably get an uprated clutch assembly from UK. Just thought to source it locally if possible.
    Thanks,
    Peter

Try Jim Berry at Raceclutch in Stones Corner in Brisbane. 3847 9999 I have found him to be very helpful over the years for odd parts, many of which he seems to have on the shelf. I bought an uprated clutch recently from him for my Alpine GTA Turbo. Most surprising.

A Renault 25 plate will have the same spline and 230 or 235mm. A Renault Alpine GTA will also have the same spline and 235mm diameter. These Renault driven plates should be available from the usual places.
