They talk about swapping heads from an XU10 2.0 to an 8v UX9.
What engine is an XU10, is that the newer MI16 engine?
Has anyone heard of this head swap?

    Cheers

XU 10 is in the late mi16, s16, Xantia etc. Because that engine has an 86mm bore as opposed to the xu9 83mm bore it is easy to see that the chambers in the head will be of larger internal diameter than the liners, which could cause head gasket sealing issues. This is discussed in depth on the 205gti drivers forum. Maybe drop peterT a pm, see if you can find out what they did with parry/ash's car, coz its xu9 has had great results.

It was the 8v XU10 (Series 2 405, 8v 306 XSi)) they were talking about and they generally came to the conclusion that it wasn't worthwhile.

Graham beat me to it, it is the head off the two Pugs mentioned above, I think have they slightly better flow and larger valve area, but the gains are not worthwhile and it is better to go for properly ported and flowed head with modded cam.

The mod is talked about a bit on www.forum.205gtidrivers.com

    Sweet thanks guys!
I think I'll contact Peter T when I have the money and get one of his Head/Cam packages.
    Cheers
