    Default Lpg

Does somebody have an idea about why car manufactures do not go for the use of LPG as fuel? LPG is not as expensive than Gasoline...

Much more difficult to keep LPG under control compared to a Petroleum.
The high pressures needed to keep the LPG in a useable (liquid) form
make for far higher risk in storage and transfer operations.

Bear in mind when petroleum was originally developed the technology
of the time (early 20th century) wouldn't have been able to supply LPG
as easily or as cheaply then as it could petroleum fuels.

What happens in the future withe the relative costs between the two
will have more to do with politics (local and international) than any
    economic reality.

Plus AFAIK these things are controlled by supply and demand, and also by the fact that until recently far more petroleum has been produced than LPG (I think that at the moment LPG production is increasing as petroleum starts to decrease, though... but I'm not too sure about that.)

ie LPG can afford to be cheaper because it's in less demand, but there's also less of it... if it was in equal demand, I'm sure the government would crank the excise up, the oil companies would push the price up, and it'd be the same price as petrol.

As i understand at least some LPG is produced as a byproduct of oil refining.
Someone at work lives in Altona (Vic) near the refinery and he told me the other week that they (refinery) was burning off heaps of gas during the night (his mate works there).
They burn it off when there is excess in order to keep the price stable - work that one out. Business over enviroment. That's more than stupid if it is so.

LPG is linked to petrol prices. Expect a big rise soon!

GMH now makes a LPG Commodore. If it's anything like the Ford, the bulk buyers will lap it up, then it will have very poor resale value.

the Holden LPG will be a direct injection LPG on their new V6 motors.
Much more efficient way to deliver LPG.

I just wish http://www.gas-injection.com got into gear and became available to the public.
