Re-post: Performance might be a better catergory.

I have just taken the engine and boring-warner auto out of my 504 GL '79 with a BA10/5 to soon go in. I was having a look at the mess of pollution equipment and automatic choke on the standard set-up and wondered what would be the consequences of removing the pollution gear (other than legal/RWC), assuming I blocked any redundant hoses and orifices? What sort of re-tuning would be required etc etc? Would I have to retune?

Also, has anybody converted this carb to a manual choke? What did it take?
