    Default 306 - 405 wheel sizes

Have searched AF using obvious wording but no luck

Are the wheels on a 306 interchangeable with those on a 405?

Tyre size seems the same, but what about offset, stud patterns etc?

Not concerned about the 16v versions of these models.

    Hi Decca,

No prob with the stud pattern-almost all Pugs have a PCD of 108mm X centre bore of 65.1mm.

Wheel sizes are the same , but offsets can be different.

Most 306's have an offset around 18-20mm.

405 (at least Mi16) mave an offset of around 29mm.This means your rim may foul with your the front callper.

I have a set of 405mi16 rims and they don't fit a 406 because of the different offset - the front calipers on the 406 are about 10mm bigger than they should be for the 406mi16 rims to fit.

    Hey Anhtu,

    Don't tell me you've flogged the 405 for a 406?

One of the frustrating aspects of each & every mode upgrade is the wheel offset compatability & 406 wheels share an offset compatibility more like the 306 (ie 20mm).

sounds like there is doubt about their interchangability

I have seen a Series 1 306 XR (I think) with 4 apparently good alloys that may be for sale at, I hope , a reasonable price that I was thinking of getting for my Series 2 405 SRi. I would only consider this if all specs are identical.

Anyone know of a web site link for a wheel maker that will clear things up?
