Default Even Fire Twin Turbo Finished

My evenfire PRV V6 twin turbo is complete and running, at 8 pounds boost it is way faster than it used to be, wheel spin in first and second is very easy to achieve. Lag time is less than with the single T04 The engine was a Volvo B280 with oddfire cams from Crow. A standard dizzy is used as a trigger for the ignition, it uses a gas research carb and is gas only. Comp reduced to 8.8 to 1 and heads ported. The trimatic auto has a manual valve body, strengthened output shaft and a steel brake band piston. A high stall to 2200 rpm torque converter and the buffers have been removed from the clutch packs in the auto. The car was already lowered has an LSD and 604 brakes with green stuff pads. This was a lot of work in case anyone was wondering. A dyno check of power will be done shortly. See the photos below.

i can see a bit clearer now as to how it would fit into a 604 bay

be interested in the dyno figures when you get around to it

Looks awesome! I never knew that the PRV was such a compact engine (by V6 standards). It looks like a very neat job. I love it.
Have you given it a good run yet? Does the fridge effect the running temps, being placed across the grill?

    That is awesome.

Something like that would be great in the 604

Looks great, id love the sound of that, bet the induction note is awsome !

what cars did the PRV engine come from, about what could you be looking at spending for a running engine ie before all the turbo work, do toy think it would be a worth while upgrade in a 505 GTi ? thinking about some type of conversion for my 505 GTi just cant decide, need soemthing to lure me away from these performance jap cars a bit

    any way great work

    Sweet, Sweet, SWEET!
Think you better enter it in Classic Adelaide , I'd love to see this in action!

May I ask where you were able to source the green stuff pads from?

THIS IS SOOOOOO OVER THE TOP!!!! Congratulations on this pioneering work. How much weight would you estimate this conversion adds to the engine? I know it is insignificant compared to the power gains, I am just curious.

Looks like a very neat turbo conversion....piping work looks tip top.

I know nothing really about these motors but are they a SOHC?
Also whats the difference between the Oddfire and Evenfire????

    yes they are SOHC

    basically

oddfire has a 3 journal crank

evenfire has a 6 journal crank

timing setup for the oddfire is odd due to the crank pins

there is a lot more to it but oddfire is common in 90deg V6's where they have 3 journal cranks

the PRV isn't the only oddfire V6

Ah thanks everyone for positive comments, I’ll try to answer some of the questions.

    505 to the Max
It has not had a good run yet but I have had a few power slides and big launches. I have never fitted up Air con and now that I have the large yet cheap Chinese intercooler there is no room for a condenser without further mods.

    Tiop
PRVs are cheap, buy a $200 604 Peugeot, $1400 for a late B280 evenfire and a range of options in between. If you search this site or my posts you will find much info on these engines.

Scott/Demannu I was told last night who you are and of course your dad talks about what you are up to, I'm surprised I did not realise.

    Thanos
It weighs 1310 KG with the V6 and turbos, I suspect that there is not much in it. Also I am not a pioneer of this idea, there is another twin turbo V6 505 in Melbourne, a manual and faster than mine.

    1. 1310 kilos is really light, a hair lighter than the stock 505 V6 actually. If it were mine (my birthday is on October 18) I would put stiffer springs up front, a 3.46 LSD diff from the 505 turbo, R compounds in the rear, (all of the above to get good grip), and go prowling.

    2. First or second, you are still a pioneer. And your giving credit where it is due, your willingness to share information, and your modesty are as impressive as your twin turbo accomplishment.

    WELL DONE!
