    Icon5 S3 in S1 205gti

    is the engine (or is it ignition...?) control module the same on an S1 as a S3? im thinking that it is not and therfore i will need one out of an S3. im talking about the little black and blue thingy that takes the widest plug that comes off the wiring loomb. on the S3 it is the first plug that comes off the loomb from the firewall and is mounted above the RHS wheel arch. on the S1 it is near the coil on the LHS... just incase i got the name wrong

    The S3 has a Motronic ECU, almost identical to the Mi16. The S1/S2 has a Jetronic fuel only ecu. Ignition advance is via conventional distributor. The Bosch ignition module is the same for all.

    bugger. i was hoping that that was going to be my problem

    do you know what i need to have connected for the car to run?
    ignition module
    injectors
    coil
    coolant temp
    afm
    aux air device
    solinoid and starter etc.
    where does the fuel pump relay etc connect to the S3 loom?

    what else do i need?

    and on the S1 the starter solinoid etc come from a separate loomb on LHS of engine bay. on the S3 am i right in saying that this section of wiring comes off the engine loomb? i think it is a long brown plug with 7 wires coming out...?
