Default Rebuild Cost for an R10

it seems as it might be up for a rebuild possibly soon, and i am unsure what cost would be involved, and how long the process would be.

rather than ringing around, i thought i'd ask here first, as a general guide.

so how much we lookin at? in between $1000-2000

does any reconditioning specialist do it, or are they sent to a Renault outlet?

how long would it roughly take, if the business is able to get in and do it straight away.

i think it took a 4WD Landy about a week or 2, to get done, is that about what i should be expecting?

any help and advice would be appreciated.

and furthering on from ur advice, i'll ring around to get the best price and service/quality.

With new pistons and sleeves, valves and guides, and clutch, closer to $2500, for the full job from drive in, drive out .

I am hoping the valve stems are attached to the valve heads fairly well. I am guessing you mean valve guides, rather than valve stems.

If it actually has new valves, not refaced ones, and has new springs and guides, plus all the work to fit them, and face the head, around $350-$400.

Hey Adam, I am glad you said you were getting a new R10 head. I saw this thread and thought you'd decided to go and have it done professionally.
I'll send it off if soon if you want it.

    Chris
