    Default 505GTi Gear ratios - Question

    One for the 505 GTi Guru's

    What RPM is a 505 S1 GTi Automatic doing at 60kmph?
    (Obviously in top gear, 3rd)

    I haven't driven it in a few weeks but I reckon it does something around 2500rpm at 60km/h. I definitely know that it does around 3800rpm at 100km/h. I imagine the 4th gear in the Series II auto would be a nice thing to have...

    That reply suggests that your Executive is a manual. Sounds nice. GTi or STi Exec?

    Sorry I was a bit ambiguous , it's actually got the typical 3 speed auto in it, so in my post I was just trying to say how much I'd prefer to have the 4 speed auto instead... A manual would be even better!

    Mine's a GTi spec with leather and sunroof but it's a bit worse for wear at the moment, I'm slowly fixing things up but it will be some time before it's in presentable condition again. I've been a bit lazy lately...

    The 4sp auto makes a hell of a difference in the GR wagon we have(it's for sale too BTW.. ) and having both a SI and SII at the same time, was good for comparison purposes too.
