    Default 405 indicator problem

my freinds 405 is having problems with the indicators.
they seem to not work after a couple of clicks on/off when activated.
this happens both sides and sometines you may get three clicks on/off before they stop.
i thought maybe the flasher cans are stuffed, but it works fine on the hazard lights.
we got a second hand indicator/lights stalk yesterday as this was advised when i posted this problem about 3-4 mnths ago.
either the one we got has the same problem or its something else.
    relay??? maybe-?=BAZZ

maybe the relay but i would have thouht the hazards would do the same thing if that was the case. other thing might be to check the earth side of the circuit. i'm not exactly sure how the wiring works in this system but there should be a diagram in the haynes manual.
