Default which combo will suit ?

ok, have done some brake upgrade enquiries last week, mainly for road use and (not very) occassional track/spirited driving:

    - OMP slotted discs + OMP pads
    - Black Diamond slotted discs + Black Diamond pads
    - DBA slotted discs + Valeo pads
    - AP Racing slotted discs + ??? pads

what are your thoughts guys ?

Best upgrade will be the GTi 180 discs and calipers.
    You can't beat big discs...

i had black diamond brakes and pads on my Mi16, really great brakes, bit dusty though. I agree about the 180 discs, they're unreal.

I think the GTI180 discs and pads are the same as the 307.

EBC pads and discs all-round. Did a great job for over 4 years on my 306. My mate is considering the same for his 138 206. - Chris

Really? I'm sure they're the same as the GTI6 brakes but didn't know they were the same as the 307 brakes. is it the 307 XSI that shares the brakes?

well, jc_333 had fitted 307 discs and pads before on his GTI138 so I'm pretty sure. I think you have to change the caliper as the disc size is different...

Depends how spirited you use it on the road. Where I go for drives, lots of winding steep roads so coming down I've definitely faded the oem pads. For fast road/light track, I'd recommend dba slotted discs + ferodo ds2500 pads. I also know a friend who uses bendix ultimates on his pulsar SSS on the track with no serious fade, and he drives very hard. Not sure if you can get Ultimates for the 206 but they have the added advantage of not being expensive. Unfortunately I couldn't get them for my car so ended spending $$$$ on the ds2500 (which are awesome).
    Take the long way home....
