    Default 306 XSi 8v VS 16v

    Hi,

    I have tried looking for this info everywhere but cannot find it! What are the performance differences between a 8v Xsi and a 16v Xsi?

    any info is much appreciated!

    I recomend reading this thread.306 Timeline FAQ

    In aus, the 1st series XSi (N3) had the 8v head. The second generation (N5) got the 16v head as did the rest of the 306 range. In the UK though, the model variance was far greater, much more to choose from. - Chris

    I had an 94 306 xsi 8v. If i remember the 16v version was the S16 and had around 137BHP whereas the 8v only had 123BHP i think.

    This was a while ago and in the UK so i am not too sure about over there. I think the 16v is most def the one to have as i found the 8v had plenty of power but didn't really seem as fast as i first thought it would be.

    I'm in the UK too mate. I'm happy with the speed of the 8v I have to say, I upgraded from a 1.4 LX so there is a fairly big difference. I definately want to increase the power of the car so its alot faster though.
