    Default S16 in Adelaide

    Hey Guys

This is my first post, sorry ive got a few questions.

I bought a 306 S16 a few months back. I have been taking it to Taylors of Medindie and im getting a sick of their lack of help and high prices.

I only run it on BP Ultimate and have only been getting 350-400Km per tank driving normally, so I think its time for a tune.

Can anyone recommend decent places for me to take it in Adelaide, as I think it may be up for a new clutch soon as well.

I have noticed that the wheel alignment has gone bad rather quickly after I bought new tyres, is this a common problem? I also have a problem when im parking or travelling at very low speed and I turn the wheel one way, then the other it clicks over rather roughly, Any comments?

    Thanks heaps

    Tim

You should be getting at least 500 around town adn 700 on the freeway. Check that both the intake solenoids are working as this can cause poor economy. Take a look here Where did my power go????

    Welcome to AF Tim
For us to give you better answers you will need to clarify more on the problems you are having.
Eg what is clicking when you drive slowly, is it the wheels? shafts? the steering wheel? is it a noise or a vibration? Does it come thru the steering wheel or is it all noise from under the bonnet?
How do you know the wheel alignment has "gone bad" quickly, is it by feel? are your new tyres mounted and balanced right? are the pressures ok? how do you know its the alignment? is it the car pulls to one side under brakes or acceleration?...
Otherwise nice machine, there is a few fond owners of S16's here to try and help you help yourself. - Chris

ps I can't help with adelaide workshops.

    Welcome Tim!

    Another Adelaidian S16 - nice!

2 other places in Adelaide i can recommend - Lion Automobiles, just off Daws rd - very good, and better rates than Taylors.
Also might try Charles St Auto on Unley Rd, heard good things but havent been personally.

Regarding fuel, im getting 8.8 L/100k at the moment. I drive from the hills every day to town, so a bit of freeway and town driving.. Have you checked your tyre pressures? O2 sensor? Thermostat?

    See you around..

Mark who owns the workshop used to work at Taylors and also worked overseas with Peugeot. Has all the Certificates from Peugeot. He is great and his prices are honest. He will give you choices from original parts to other recommended parts from overseas. Best thing is he will show you how things work. Oh yeah and prices again.

Welcome aboard guys! Good to see more Adelaide pug owners out there A mate of mine has a S16 that he's using as his run around car at the moment - I think he's looking to sell/trade it on a Toyota Prado .
Murray : And there are flames coming from the back of Prost's car as he enters the swimming pool!
James Hunt: Well that should put them out then!
