    Default 205 gti brake pads

    Hi all

I need to put new pads on the old 205gti. Its an 87 S1 whats the best option short of ditching the lot and getting S3 brakes?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Pagid Blacks with slotted rotors. Otherwise toss the lot and upgrade to 306 brakes. Much better than S3.

if u can find a stacked 306s16 or alike you should be able to grab the ABS as well and fit this to it.

What's the deal with the S3 brakes apart from rear discs?

My s1 has wobbly discs, but im going for a milling and some new, un-friggen-glazed pads. I'm so sick of being the one pulling up at lights with the squeaky brakes (while buses pull up relatively silently!).

Although since i went to the michelin preceda's, i've been thinking about going for 306 brakes. Seems a lot of hassle though...

that ain't good look... or sound

only finding 306 brakes might be a hassle. almost everything in peugeot is modular, fitting stuff from model to model isn't to different (if at all). its a broad sweeping statement i know, but you could make money as big arse company otherwise.

i think the main difference is between the S3 gear is that it has bigger front stuff and rear discs. i believe the S1/2 brakes were from the 1.6 GTi as we had the 75Kw engine (1.6=78Kw) over here not the 87kw they had. peter and others would know for sure

On closer inspection of my rotors, i think they may be nearing the end of their service. They're somewhat grooved, not to mention the warp.

What's the damage on slotted discs in the 205 size? I don't like cross drilling, looks nasty and is too compromised. Slots do most of the work.

Maybe those with some greenstuff pads, that'd stop nice.

Is that gear relatively expensive compared to say, original peugeot parts?
