Default K&N induction kit - Heat shield

    Hi Ppl

I have just bought a car that has a K&N Induction kit in it. While it sounds great I doubt if its doing any good because of the hot air going into it from the radiator. Any thoughts on how to shield the air, DIY?

    Thanks

    Ky

Hi kaiser, you could purchase some flexible foil backed foam and shape it so that only colder air enters. In the photos is it some form of tubing/piping that enters from below that you can only just see under the actual filter, if so you could have it so that the only exposed part is this tubing.... what car did you buy 406V6? Cheers-Chris

...its a Refrigeration product, I use it at work but havn't the foggiest were we used to get it from. They handle the heat of the compressor head very well, so under bonnet temps etc shouldn't be a problem.-Chris

use an esky bro! I was faced with the same problem on my 405, theres not much room in there... alot of new cars have pod filters inside a plastic cylindrical shell as stock from the factory. maybe you could mix & match one from another car or make something similar.

    Thanks Guys

I might try something similar to the attached pic, just got to find a suitable product. I was thinking of some heater duct.

    Ps its a 99 Coupe
