    Default out of fuel procedure

if you run out off fuel in a 205 gti is there any procedure for starting the car after refuel or will the fuel pump take care of this?,the reason i ask is that on some fuel injected trucks that i have driven in my past employment, had a procedure were you had to pump and prime the injectors with a hand pump attatched to the injection inlet[i thinlk]before the motor would restart.
i dont want to find out the hard way-BAZZ

Truck use mechanical pump, which can airrate itself after running dry.

no such probs with electrical pumps on 205.
just let it pressurise the system (about 5 secs or so) and off you go.

It's more a difference between the high pressure fuel systems of diesels (as would have been in the trucks you mention) and the relatively low pressure systems found in petrol.

Air in a diesel fuel system means the pump doesn't work - you need to bleed the air using the little pump which has a "screw top" to get fuel all the way up to the injectors before you can start it.

You soon learn not to run out of fuel in diesel trucks
Not sure about modern Common Rail Diesel engines - Justin - or any other AFer in Europe - can you check on that in a diesel car manual?

just be careful, my ren19 ran dry and it cost me $800 for a new fuel pump as it had seized due to a lack of lubrication, I'll always keep a good amount of fuel in my tank now.
