    Default What acceleration tester should I buy?

    Hi,

    Just wanted some opinions on what acceleration tester I should buy. I don't want something out of NASA but I don't mind spending $$$ to get something that works well.

    Here are a few options;

    I have a Race-Technology AC22. It's not bad, fun to play with. To be honest in the three or so years I've owned it I have probably used it about ten times mainly because it is a bit fiddly to set up and it takes a while to write down all the figures after a run. There is no backlight for the LCD either which is a major bummer.

    The extra money for the AP22 is worth is as you can log the data, and import it via serial cable to a laptop and make nice pretty graphs and stuff.

    I was bored out the back of Wagga one day so I did one run and recorded all details. You can see there are some pretty weird figures there particularly at the end of the braking run which can probably be solved by more fiddling of the settings. The counter was still counting after I'd completely stopped;

    I bought a current model (Brand new) Gtech pro on Ebay last night for $110 bucks. Thats a lot better than the $391 on the autospeed site http://www.autospeed.com/shop/category_1335/browse.html

    $90-120 seems to be the going price on ebay.

    Thanks mac and PA, looks like the GTech is a go-er and I ordered one (for $120 not $300!)
