    Default LSD for Gti6

I hope this thread has not been done before if it has i apologise.
I just got my pug back as of last friday and need to prepare it for the PIARC Sprints at Philip Island in August.

Im strongly considering getting a LSD for the car just so i can punch out of corners and get on the power earlier instead of feathering it to control understeeter as i had to do last time at the track. Also itll make launching my car an easier task.

Whats ppls experience with LSD on their 306's? Are Quaiffe the only brand that make the for our cars?

    Any estimate on pricing ect?

Or does anyone have a 2nd hand one they wanna sell?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Alex,

I'll be arranging another bulk buy from Quaife shortly.

Expect to pay $1200 + (the AUD$ has drifted the wrong way lately)

I'll be at the Island this Sunday in the lsd equipped Mi16.

How did the diff go Jeff?
MIne is still making a moaning noise when one of the wheels is spinning.
The guy from Quaife reckoned this was impossible unless one wheel was off the ground! As I understand it these diffs have around a 4 to 1 torque splitting ratio, not a full locker, and some slippage will occur.
I am using ELF oil, maybe this is too light a grade?

I was at Phillip Island yesterday & the diff was very impressive.

No wheelspin exiting corners as was the case previously & my speed increased by 20 kph at the end of the straight to 190-195kph.

Bettered my lap times by 3.5 secs (2:01.17)

    Excellent 'bang-for-buck'.

Sounds impressive, Jeff. As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago the diff in my car has put me a lot closer to the pace in State Champ Motorkhanas. I am looking to try an Autocross sometime soon. The little 1.6 is probably not going to be too impressive on bitumen events even with the extra traction!

There are two us us here in NZ that will be in on the next group buy for the quaiffe LSD when it comes off.

One in just a normal 205 gearbox, the other into the Gti6 Box - are they the same LSD unit?
