    Default AussieTeutons?

Was helping my brother with his '73 Mercedes coupe yesterday evening. Some electrical gremlin was stopping the fuel pump from running. He has no manual for it and a wiring diagram would have saved me quite a bit of probing with the multi-meter. Got it running in the end.

AussieFrogs is terrifically helpful to French car enthusiasts with plenty of good advice freely given. Does anybody know if there are any similar forums for Mercs/German cars? Not necessarily an *Aussie*Teuts of course, but something with a similar good advice in an easygoing atmosphere. The ones I turned up in a 10-minute search seemed much less forthcoming than our friendly group.

    Have fun,

    Rob.

There are a few Oz fora, none as busy as AF. There are many Mercs near me, but they are new and all speak Chinese. This demographic may not want self-help.

I'd suggest you send a PM to Dino.

Dino is a Mercedes collector I believe.

And more than likely can help with a wiring diagrams from his contacts.

OZBENZ is a very good forum for Australian Benz owners.

Thanks all -- helpful as ever. I took a look around in the OZBENZ forum. It looks far better than the ones my searches turned up. I'll point my brother at it and he can try them out with his questions as they arise. The urgent need for a wiring diagram has passed, so I'll not pester Dino for now.

It's fun how different cars were back in the '70s. There was a big gap between the Pug 504 and the Merc 280 which has shrunk to next to nothing with their descendants. The new cars are better in every rational sense, but something's been lost. I'd guess there won't be many people in 2060 wanting to get their old classic 2019 Merc|Pug up and running.

    Have fun,

    Rob.
