    Default Liqui Moly diesel purge

My rough idle problem on the Pug 407 HDI is improved after trying a few fuel additives and blocking the EGR. But itís still not right.

Iím going to give Liqui Moly diesel purge a go. Itís not a fuel additive, instead the diesel line is temporarily disconnected and the product is fed directly into the fuel system.

But Iím not sure how to feed it into the fuel line. There are a couple of 407 owners who have posted some vids on YouTube. The seem to just shove a plastic hose into the filter housing, with other end in the product container. I thought this would result in air in the fuel system. I was thinking of taking the fuel filter outlet hose and putting that into the container, hose connector included.

Also does a 407 HDI have an in tank lift pump. I assume this must be unplugged or fuse removed. Otherwise fuel will be pumping out everywhere when itís disconnected.

So anyoneís experience/advice would be appreciated.

RhH or RHR? Or is a six?

Some lift from the tank, some suck from the HP pump.

Not a good idea to run solvents thru a hp pump check your compression get someone to do a relative compression test

I havenít had a scan done for the engine data. It went to the dealer which said no issue with engine or anything. But crap service and no longer trust their advice as you donít get to speak to a mechanic anymore, just the smart Alec at the front desk.

The engine mount was replaced about 2 years/15000km ago.

It's a solvent, and toxic, as follows from their data file
    60-100% naphtha, petroleum, hydrodesulfurised heavy
    3-10% 2-ethylhexyl nitrate
    0.1-1% benzene, mono-C4-9-alkyl derivatives
2008 would be an RHR. It pumps from the tank.

Many dealers are like that. It's annoying.

    Rhr suck from the tank
What area are you in rar110
You should look into the injector corrections at idle and get someone to do a compression test using a amp clamp on the starter circuit that way you donít need to break the glow plugs or injectors

Very annoying. One bloke who worked at this Mt Gravatt dealership was quite good. But heís disappeared. Now itís probably one mechanic, and the rest are apprentices and unskilled labourers.

Ok. Itís not badly rough, but enough so you can see the rear edge of the bonnet vibrating. On a bad day (before I put the EGR plate in) I could feel the vibration in the seat.

Iíve used a few fuel additives over a couple of years, including redline and CEM. I think they have made a difference, but still too rough.

Maybe Iím expecting too much from an inline 4 cyl diesel, as the other car is a RR tdv8 which is also a Ford (Jag) PSA jointly developed motor AFAIK. But incredibly smooth for a 12 year old diesel.

Without doing a relative compression test and checking fuel corrections you are wasting your time

This carís only done 110,000 km, had oils changed every 10k km. The last 60k with us. I canít see compression being an issue on such a low km vehicle.

Itís had induction cleaner through it, and Iíve taken out the MAF/MAP for a contact clean.

    Iíve done an oil flush.

So shouldnít be build up on rings.

And taken it on extended HW runs in 3rd gear (Italian tune).

    rar110,
You complain about not being able to speak to a Peugeot tech at your dealer, yet one here online has told you at least three times to get a compression check done and other suggestions, and you have failed to acknowledge him yet alone listen to his advice.

Am I the only one to notice that?
