    Default Power steering

This isnt exactly frog relatd but...My girlfriends Mirage has power steering and she hates it, her old mirage didnt, and she liked the solid feel with no assistance. The question is, can you remove power steering with no adverse effects? (her old one was written off by a guy in riced civic...didnt understand what a red light is!)cheers!

Should be easy enough - just go and buy the manual rack and bolt it in, and unbolt all the hydraulics and the pump. A wrecker will no doubt swap a power rack for a manual one.

Just disconnecting wont be good, as the power rack will be a higher ratio and a pig to drive if not powered.

Also check that Mitsubishi didnt run different caster and/or camber setting b/w manual and power steer, and if so, then check if its adjustable. The power model may run more caster which is good for handling but not for light steering.

However, a much better option is to flog it off and buy a real car
