Default 205 after market oil cooler location

After info or best advice on mounting an after market oil cooler to the gti 6 in my 205, location is going to have to be under drivers headlight as there is precious little room elsewhere that fits, as I have tried already to keep it close by the filter etc.

It a mocal filter that fits to a thermostat to open at 80 and is on the end of about 0.75m of hose on both fittings.

The principal behind this is to reduce overall heat load on coolant system that is traditionally used to give best chance of air con working and cool oil for engine.

How about a welded fram under the wheel arch on the brace that sits there? Short path and solid mount with rubber buffers.

You could ppace it up and to the right ‘next to’ the inlet manifold?

Mabye less room obviously but you get the point.

No I haven't its all factory, I get the idea but its getting very squeezy now. Not much room left for anything.

Or from the bottom on the nonstructural crosmember the rad setup sits on.

Had it there but mounted a little too high interfering with the lower part, a lower mounted cooler will clear this so a metal bracket with rubber mounts is on the cards along with the lines which folded back to allow engine movement (after I destroyed last revision, thanks Scotty)

If it is mounted under a mudguard the fins will fill up with mud and crud.

I found out by hard experience when putting air con condensers under guards.

And gravel thrown up by the wheel has a tendency to put holes in modine tube type condensers

Fair comment and logical, did not enter my mind which is the ultimate limitation? Back on front close as possible must be best.
