Default Release handbrake cable from rear disk caliper 205 gti

Technical enough to fall into this category.

I would like to release the brass end on the handbrake cable from the lever it attaches to on the rear caliper. It seems well and seized, Nothing seems to soak in there I suspect heat is one way?

Have you disconnected the cables from the handbrake lever? After that some heat and a gentle tap should separate the lever from the brass end. Removing the cable from the caliper is usually difficult.

Yes cable released from car, its out of the car, the brass collar is frozen into the aluminium bosy of the caliper, heat lubrication and persuasion then?
