Default 2000 406 hdi idle issue

    Hey all,

My 406 has an issue when at the lights, when sitting idle the revs start to get a little erratic, and drop. The only way to stop it is to apply my foot and hold the revs at a suitable level. I might be about to donate the pug to a family member and want to fix the issue before i pass it on. Any clues as to the way i might be able to fix it?

Maybe check any/all vacuum hoses? If any of them are perished or obviously split, sucking in extra air might upset the idle...

It could be an alternator clutch or even a dual mass flywheel if manual does the acc belt flap around
Vacuum leaks shouldn't affect a diesel like that
