    Default 2 post hoist

Finally have a shed ready for a 2 post hoist. Lots on offer from $2400 to about $4000.

Anyone bought a hoist recently, what's your experience.

I have been looking at them for a while. Two friends have bought these and have had them about a year. Single phase and very happy with their build and performance.

It doesn't have screw in adjustable lift pads and very slow lift time (60 secs) other than that it looks ok. Be aware you need very thick concrete with this type of hoist.
    cheers Pete

The hoist I put the link in for has the adjustable pads and lifts in 50 secs. It still comes in at $2750. Whether a hoist lifts in 30, 40 or 60 seconds I don't think is an issue for our domestic use. How many times a day do you expect to lift from the ground to full height? The HAPP hoist is available with large steel plates to spread the load under the posts when the concrete floor is sub-standard.

Our Machinery Restoration Group bought one of these two post hoists. We have added an additional brace at ground level that is parallel to the vehicle. This provides additional anchorage and reduced the risk of any movement fore or aft should the weight distribution be less than optimal.
