Default problem with a non french gearbox

G/DAY ALL the little Nissan pulsar n15 that I'm using as transport too and from work has decided it wants to jump out of 5th gear when it feels like it, I replaced all 4 engine mounts and no change do these things have a detent spring on 5th and is it accesable from outside the box? any thoughts would be appreciated
    Cheers Peter

    Hi Peter,
Just a shot in the dark. Check that the gear change linkages are pulling/pushing the selector fully into engagement in 5th. Also that the normal gearbox movement does not put pressure on it to come out.
Of course there will be detents in the box with balls and springs acting on the rods. Not usually a failure point in 5th. But anything can happen with cars !
    Good luck.
