Default 405 mi16 XU9J4; Sourcing new aux idler pulley? is it possible?

anyone know where i can source a new aux belt idler pulley?

I've found out throught the mi16 facebook site i can use a VW mk2 timing belt tensioner with a new stud and spacers, but i would rather find a new one if they exist....

thinking of buying new, otherwise will have to source bearing - if anyone has a bearing number that would be awesome.

    thanks all

I have replaced the bearing in that type of pulley before quite successfully but I had to do some lathe work first to get the old one out.

If your in my area sometime - I can show you what I did and/or get my lathe started and help you out.

PM me for my phone number.

    regards

Unfortunately its one of those parts that seems to be obsolete IMO... Have looked high and dry on the net including Rexbo, Ebay uk, Ebay france and more.

Thanks Roland but i decided today to just re-pack the bearing for the short term. Not sure how long it will last but i figured ive got nothing to lose.
In the meantime will prob source the parts to do the vw tensioner conversion as those parts seem to be much more plentiful.

Am in the middle of a cambelt change and possibly a head recon which i would rather get stuck into.
    thanks again to all
