    Hey,

I saw one about 6 months ago in sydney travelling on the M5 and it was dark green in really good nick. I dont know about importing them but id say that if there were a few out here that would have been imported.
As for speed and track work. Im guessing cause they are basically a stretched 205 they would be just a quick but no so edgy(only a guess dont jump on me for my opinion)

The 309 GTi is a brilliant car. I had one for a couple of years and loved it. Much better ride and handling than a 205, much cheaper to buy, and equally able to be "improved". The last time I used it on the track it was able lap quicker than a VN Commode V8.

    Cheers

I don't think you ever got them in Australia, but we certainly got them on this side of the Tasman, so you shouldn't need to look to the UK to find one

the only ones that are out here are private import cars

they were never sold out here

it was back in the days where australia just got the basics and that was it and the 309 (rebadged talbot) just didn't come into the equation

I want a GTi. Specification wise they went head to head with the Volvo 360GLT, with a similar size, engine capacity, and even very close in price ( in NZ) but I imagine the ride and handling would beat the Volvo.
