    Default EW Engine into a D8 406

    Hi All,

Just wondering if it is possible to put the later EW10 engine (D9 406) into a XU10 engined 406 D8 sedan? If so, what would it involve? Would the wiring simply be a case of swapping the ecu & loom (same multiplugs?) or would it involve a lot cutting and connecting and tracing..

If you are wondering why, the D8 has a blown gearbox and the AL4 expert said don't swap AL4s from non identical models. (Gear ratios, etc.)

    Regards,
    Michael

I thought the D8 auto was a ZF, not an AL4?

D9 is multiplexed i think, so doubt it would be straightforward. You might be able to use pre-multiplex 206GTi computers and stuff...?
