I think the use of "steam" when talking about a PRV engine is harsh

Although I notice an absence of trailer towing a spare engine.

Anyone looking for an froggy car had a fairly good choice of some nice cars for sale. My favourite , a very clean Sage Grey 504 , also there was up for grabs a nice tidy red Dauphine Gordini , a very clean 604 , a mint looking 505 GTI , a Citroen Pleuriel , nice looking maroon Traction , A rare but sadly fire damaged R4 panel van. I think there was more and ,oh, a nice looking pale blue D special but it didn't have a for sale sign on it.

It probably got there in spite of its own steam.

That R4 certainly had potential. It was very straight and must have been tidy before the fire.

This is a fine example of 604 I dought you would find a better example in Australia .
My parents had one when I was a kid that was a couple of years old when they brought it.
And it wasn't as good as this one .

    don't get me wrong

    the car is very nice

it has had a lot of money spent on it

pity the bloke who spent the money didn't get the job done right

the engine needs work as posted not so long ago in the for sale section

the car has had a big hit up the rear that was not fixed correctly when the car was restored and it has the wrong door cards in it

the paint work is great though

as i said, it's nearly as good as the car my mother had and without a doubt that car she had was the best 604 this country has ever seen

So what happened to your mums car is it still around ?

I have to agree with you on the door cards, but that's an easy fix.

I'm not sure about a big hit in the rear, the boot floor is pretty straight I think there is a small crease on the left but I wouldn't say it had a Big hit in the rear , and in the resto photos there is no evidence of a big hit.

With it over heating it's proberbly the head gasket, as its had all the hoses, thermasstat, fan And radiator changed. Not a impossible fix.

I can't understand why there is no interest in 604's I've seen 504's sell for $10,000 in the same condition as that 604.

The $5,000 that he is asking is a fair price I think, you are lucky to get a respray now for that money.
Considering that it has a lot of new parts like taillights ,head lights, side strips just ot mention Few things and a near perfect interior.
Just think what a interior would cost to have reupholstered out of leather and it wouldn't be original like that one is.

Maybe he should think about parting it out to recoup his money back, that would be ashame to wreck a good car but what do you do?

I know he has a access to a late Volvo 3 litre motor that would fix the overheating problem,

He also has a full 5 speed convention For a v6, flywheel, clutch, bell housing and slave cylinder .

    mum's car is still around

she no longer has it but i do know where it is and it is in good hands and the owner will bring it back out again one day

604's got a bad name in the early days

they will appreciate in time though

i see one that russell hall advertised a while ago on club rego in victoria

i would like to have a much closer look at it as i am damn sure i know that car pretty damn well
