Default Melboure AF Go Kart Day - THIS SUNDAY!!!

    G'day Guys and Gals,

It's been years since the Melbourne AF crew went on a Go Kart jaunt.

I am just putting out an expression of interest for a Go Kart day in the coming months.

The track we used last time was Ace Karts in Sunshine.

It's a pretty good setup but I'm not personally a huge fan of the newer track layout so if others have a better venue then let us have it.

I know there are still some of the old group who have been too the old Kart days we had and there are also a lot of newbies as well. The previous days were all good fun (except for Haakon who was a crash magnet and usually ended up injured) and with a BBQ afterwards at the venue with stories told about the racing heroics of the day and those of days past.

As with most Car guys, the saying, "the older I got the faster I was" is usually pretty apt at any AF event.

    So, what's the G O?

Did I hurt myself that time too...? Don't remember that, but wouldn't surprise me!!

Tore a front wheel off an indoor cart once at a bucks party outing too....

They're just too much fun to take seriously

Can I recommend you choose a rainy day? Sooooooo much more fun in the wet

I thought similar... I just think it would be nice if we got something more central... more midway...
I d be happy with whatever venue is chosen... would love to meet some of you guys... regardless the place.

Don't ever get on a track with Richard. If he can't beat you he'll book you

I wouldn't mind helping out on the day, i.e. toss the sausages on the barbie, make the tea and coffee but with those wild lads on the track.......my bones don't fix so well at my age!!

I guess I could volunteer to drive Dino to and from the track, that experience should make him more appreciative of the driving of his better half

Driving less like Mr Magoo since I got my new glasses !!

Well, it starting to look a little more promising.

So far we have the following interested parties -

    cav91
David Cav (hasn't said he's interested, but if he doesn't go he might get booked for something )
    cam740
Kenfuego (possibly in his mobility scooter )
    dino
    Haakon
    scatterbrain

I'll have a look at what race packages they offer and see what number we need.

You can't book me I never break the law.

Ok I'm in but I think its unfair that Kenfuego can bring his own go cart

I'll bring Rachael with me and we'll see how tough you all are. Who's game to be on the same track as her?

To make it intersting .... why don't you get both Cavanagh Jnr's along. Imagine the the 'karts you would could see rolling down the track and bursting into flames. We could rate the crashes on how spectacular they looked

I'm always slow in 'karts...... THere to much fun to have sideways/backwards and understeer plowing to be bothered with outright speed

I've never been good at outright speed.... It's to much fun having the car, um, "sliding" at much lower speeds .... My old man was far from impressed when I got his DS23 full on sideways around an 'S' bend when he was following me (gee's, they don't half take up some space with a 124" wheelbase trying to swap ends ).
