It will be the 30th Anniversary of the BX's world wide release (1982) so it would be nice to see as many there as possible. I'll hopefully be able to bring two.

Will there be any cutoff time for display car entries?

    Tom,
I'm not one of the organisers for this event but would suggest if you are displaying your car the earlier you can arrive the better. The grounds themselves mean that cars can be safely moved at pretty well anytime, so if you have to leave early it's not usually a problem. If you can, try for 10:00 - 10:30am or earlier.

There is a peoples choice award, the more people that see your car the better chance you have of winning

    Cheers

    What a great day

Caught up with so many forum members, fantastic turnout of cars, perfect weather, great venue. All credit to the orgainsers this is The Event for French cars in Queensland a big pat on the back guys and gals

My pics are mostly biased toward the Citroen marque, so I hope others here can help with the balance

    A few highlights for me...

Donat's ID Harriet, good to put a face to a name

Terry's D Special, obviously loved to pieces, missed out on a drive but we can catch up soon, I have serious D withdrawals

Kevin's D Special, seriously this has to be the most original Special I have seen in a long time, just beautiful and belies her years this car could be a third of her real age. Complete with history books etc from year one - fabulous car

Gibgib's 2CV6 Dolly, looking magnificent, good to catch up with you guys, Denise would be happy to baby sit the boys she was enchanted by them

I've a soft spot for the BX 16 valve, this one is getting the best attention good to catch up with 'Frog' and clan

There a few more in the thumbnails at the bottom of this post. I do have a few pugs and Renaults I'll add later.

Thoroughly enjoyed the day, and left inspired to get my D to next years event

    Cheers
    Chris

Another great year for the GDoFC.

This year, I didn't display a car, first for a few for me , Scenic needs new clutch and the R10s replica isn't mobile and couldn't be trailered as I don't have a vehicle{again}.

Eating humble pie or just retracting a previous statement I had made about distances......I had to bus>>train>>bus the journey there this year, but got home via a RCCQ member as I drove one of his cars home for him. The distance to Brookside is not anywhere near as far as it appears to be, the bus from Indooroopilly was a 10:35am service, arriving at Brookside at 10:55am.
I'll say, on the strength of that alone, it is not such a bad venue and possibly should be considered for future events, with some greater input from all involved?

Caught up with a few people, mainly Renault ones from the past.

GB, saw you and your lovely wife walking around, you were at the end of the Citroen display when I saw you, maybe you headed out the gate after that because, i lost sight of you. I'll catch up soon mate, might drop by the shop one day soon.

Thanks to all those that participated on the day in particular the committee members who pulled it together. Neil D (Peugeot Club of Queensland) has headed up this group for fifteen years and deserves all the credit. There is alot of work behind the scenes that has to be coordinated and it always comes together to make for a great day. As previously mentioned, Brookfield is a great venue - close to the CBD and the Trustees are great to work with and at a fraction of the cost (and paperwork) of other venues. The committee would love to hear your ideas and we will be writing to the respective Clubs to get ideas for future events and what direction you would like to see it take.
