    Sydney 'Frog' Cruise Route

    What a day!!!

Just done a big ride on the VTR (2 wheels and not French sorry!) this morning and what some fantastic roads I discovered. From the CBD, I went north along the usual Pacific Hwy then onto the Old Pacific Hwy then along to Wisemans Ferry Road and back via Galston Gorge. Not only was the road full with bikes but it seemed to be the 'Club Cruise Day' by the looks of things. At Berowa, got caught up with the Porsche Club of NSW which had everything from the latest 996 Turbo to the 356 speedsters. Going south on the old road was the "Lotus 7" Club with some orginals and some copies too.

Have not taken this route to Wisemans Ferry before and found the condition of the roads fantastic. It has been resurfaced in the last few weeks by the look of it. Also it is well serviced by eateries and watering holes. Fuel wise - best to fill up @ Berowa as only smaller places in between. Old Northern Road is a nice flowing road which holds a 90km/h zone. But the best part of my ride was Wisemans Ferry road - just fantastic.

I asked the Punt driver (Wisemans Ferry) how many cars it could take and was advised 12 cars. There are 2 Punt that cross river every 2 mins, so if there are a few of us, we will not have to wait too long.

So who is up for a 'Frog' cruise?? After Easter would be best for everyone I presume so lets throw some dates around and see how many Froggers we can get out. It has been a while since the Sydney folk have been out for a day so it would be great to meet some of you finally! To beat weekend drivers, meeting @ 8am is the norm at the old toll gates Berowa. There is plenty of parking and well out of the way of traffic.

    Keep on Puggin'!

Funny this came up as I have been telling macquered that I was going to organise a cruise down to Berry etc. This will be more than fine though.

    I will be in.

After Easter is best for me also.

It's also a very nice drive to keep heading north towards Wollombi via St Albans, or if you don't like a bit of dirt, via Mangrove Mountain/Kulnura. Wasn't there a gathering at Wollombi not long ago?

    OK

How about Sunday April 22nd???? That gives us month to plan and should still have some agreeable weather.

1/2 day; Old Pacific Hwy / Wisemans Ferry Road / Old Northern Road and back via Galston Gorge. 4hrs or so I covered it in yesterday inc. 3 stops.

Full day; As mentioned by YEL020, down Princess Hwy to Berry and back via Kangaroo Valley / Macquarie Pass / Bowral and M5.

Peter, would rather the Mi16 not venture onto dirt roads. Sydneys potholes (aka-craters) are bad enough as it is!

There are heaps of roads that are beautiful to take to cars on round Sydney and the discussion could go on. Both the above routes are friendly to all as either start or finish can be accessed easily.

So, get rostered off (if you are lucky enough to work weekends!!!) and hope to see you all on the 22nd of April.

    Ciao for now

Can't remember reading about it on the Renault forum Daniel, but no wonder it caused controversy. A Renault 19 would look and sound ludicrous with bells on! Shame I can't be there to see it.

This is great - fantastic to see you are all so keen!!!!

It will go ahead Rain/Hail(not too big!)/Shine which is good as this is not something that you cannot do on the motorbike!

I luckily have the Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues off that weekend so I am more than keen for a full day cruise down to Berry/Bomaderry which is just North of Nowra.

    Propositions for trip are;
    1) Meet @ Sylvania McDonalds (Princess Hwy) 9am for 930am departure (too early?????)
    2) Would love to go via Royal National Park but @ $10 per car, not a viable exercise. Will call NPWS if I can organise as we are not going to stop. Stanwell Tops is a great place to take in the views. From Stanwell, back up to F6 Helensburgh.
    3) Stop @ Panorama Pub (Top of Bulli) look out and wait for Froggies coming in from western Sydney as they can come down Appin/Picton Road.
    4) Continue to Kiama for pit-stop.
    5) Down to Berry/Bomaderry and continue up to Mt Cambewarra. Admire the view and good roads.
    6) Down through the Kangaroo Valley and onto Fitzroy Falls. Lunch stop at Fitzroy Falls in Picnic area. Bring your own lunch or go to the Cafe at Fitzroy Falls.
    7) Onto Bowral (will go and annoy dealer where I bought the Mi16!!! ) and stop in Mittagong. From there, say our farewells and head back up to Sydney, peeling off the M5 where necessary.
Full details TBA of course and if you would love to add any suggestions, feel free.

Now, as previously mentioned, there is a 1/2 day option if the above is too much. To save mucking around on this site, please email me.

    Cheers!!!!!

You can go down through the national park anytime if you just let them know you are going straight through.

I do it all the time. Hopefully the roads wont have a huge amount of people on them.

This cruise sounds good, if all goes well I hope to be there.
