What do you do if you have no CAMS license?

Secondly, why is it that all the front wheel drives (104, 106, 205, 206, 305, 309, 306, 307, 405, 406, 605, 607) are lumped into one category?

Granted, it's pretty much impossible for any 305s or 309s to enter. But, if 404s, 203s and 504s & 505s have their own category, it seems sensible to divide the FWD category. I just have this feeling lumping a 104, or 205 GTi with a 406 or 607 isn't quite right!

Ultimately, I guess it depends on the entry list as well.

Cheers,

Justin

Justin,
Good point, the final class structure will depend on entries. I use these regulations from year to year, the front wheel drives have increased in numbers in that time. Certainly not before time, the 205s were never used much in motorsport when new, surprising given their reputation.
Are you a member of PCCV?
If so you can fill out a CAMS licence application at the event.
If not you will have to join PCCV, this can be easily arranged also.
If you don't want to do either come along and have a look, preferably help out!

Unfortunately Jason and I won't be able to attend DECA . There were problems with getting out of work, and I think Jason is slightly concerned about how his auto would react to the stresses of the day.

Sorry guys, but I'll definately be there next year!

Yes, you can enter on the day (10-00am at DECA Wanganui Rd. Shepparton) but I would prefer the entry form to be sent in the mail. CAMS licences can be obtained on the day. I can sign up people for PCCV membership on the day, but not RCCV.
I can email Entry forms and regulations. Contact me off line.
Sorry you can't make it Nick , maybe next year.

Graham,
I'd love to be there, the sprint circuit is great however having destroyed a g/box on it's test outing my R10 isn't ready to go yet, i might take a drive for a gander though. bit early to plan yet have to see what my foster son wants to do, he'd be bored shitless before i got to Campbellfield.
Health and good fortune always,
Damien.

We danced among the lightning bolts,

Damien,
By all means come up.
If you wish I can give you a job to help ease your son's boredom!
The only Renault entry so far is a 12 from a PCCV/RCCV member.
I will be away until Monday, maybe there will be some messages from Renault owners when I return?

We are looking at around 30 entries for DECA, still no Renault's, the limit is 40 so don't miss out.
With costs the way they are the event may not happen again, this event is quite exceptional driving value for the money, but we can't afford to lose money.
It cost $300 extra to invite another club this year.
The following day we will be meeting at Euroa to drive to to lunch at Maindample where we can ispect Peter Moore's Pug collection and talk to Ken Orrmens, a 203 competitor from the 1953 Redex.

Hi GRAHAM,

I am new the forum, is too late to join you guys for the track day this Saturday weekend?
I am not a member of the Peugeot Vic club but have been wanting to joining for some time?

I drive a 206 GTI if that is allowed and I have done a drive performance day and Sanddown racecourse. Also I own my own helmet.

Thanx

Sami,
No problems. you can join up on the day.
You will need a CAMS licence as well, available on the day, a bit of money in one hit but the PCCV membership and CAMS licence will be good for a year.
I am sending you the entry form/regulations.

PCCV Membership is pretty good - it has a fairly good club magazine, much better than some I've seen!

Finally a Renault Car Club entry, thanks to John Elliot (16TS) not exactly a new face on the motorsport scene, so what about some of you Clio owners having a go, entry is available for the skid pan at reduced rates and without ANY preparation or equipment.
We have now reached 30 entries.

G'day,
I enquired a few weeks ago regarding the DECA day. Unfortunately it appeared that a family commitment was going to stop me going. However it now appears I will be able to go (11th hour stuff here). The car has a fire extinguisher fitted. The only thing I don't have is a helmet..
can anyone help??? p.s I have a med/large head......so no x\smalls.....and no smartarse comments....

DECA was great. It was my first motorkhana and first time out on the track, and I enjoyed every moment of it.

It was great seeing cars old and new, even two diesels compete. The 307, 206 GTi and Clio Sport would've been the newest entries. Really, it isn't just about who wins and and doesn't win, so much of it is just about having fun and testing yourself. There were some drivers out on the skidpan just performing magic, like ballet out there - chances are they didn't get the absolute best time, but were bloody impressive to watch waltzing across the concrete.

You learn so much out there. I throughly enjoyed myself and was happy with my performance - although I wish I fully stopped in the garage on the first event! I think the 307 (aka, the 1304kg 1.51m tall 1.6 auto giraffe would've surprised a few out there - it had a handful of impressive times in a few events. Those 205s really know how to dance around the skidpan, and a certain 505 V6 Turbo certainly had a lot of "vavoom"!

Even if you didn't drive, it wasn't hard to enjoy yourself. There were some truly impressive displays of skill, and the social environment was great; you were amongst people of common interests.

A friend came along, and he never realised Peugeots were so good You learn so much out there, fine car control skills and the performance capabilities of your car.

I've made a few pages of pictures and maps of the events, which can be found here

xqisid, I do have some results, but they're only for the 307, 206 and Clio Sport, plus the event record.

Cheers,

Justin
