    Default Loooooooooong overdue Perth meet!

Hi all, it has been way to long so I think its definitely time for another catch up/drive day. What say we get together on the day of the Classic Car Day on March 20th? We could meet for brekkie, take a drive through the hills and then cruise down to Whiteman Park. We have a bit of interest from OZRS at this stage with about 5 confirmed.

Hi Justin and all, yea its has been ages since we catched up!!!

Idea of a drive day sounds awsome. We have to be at whiteman park by around 8.30 dont we? perhaps a drive on the same morning might be pushed for time?!

Hi guys, sorry for late reply. My intention is to drive to Whiteman Park for a looksie and not to display a car for the whole day. What say we meet at New Norcia Cafe at 8:30 for a 9am departure? We can then take a decent drive through the city and then out to the hills and arrive at Whiteman Park around 10-10:30. Anyone got some ideas for the route? At this stage we have about 10 confirmed between here and OZRS. Hopefully we can pull together a decent turnout! Open to new ideas for meet point also (perhaps even somewhere coastal?)

Is it almost that time of the year again? I still haven't got the 403 going again after she died on the way back from the show last year.

If I can get the head skimmed and get it all back together again by then I'l be there. If not I might turn up in mums VT Commodore wagon, the 505 is dead too.

    Thanks

    Hayden

My grandchildren are already jockeying for seats and are expecting to be at the Classic Car Show. Love to join the drive but I'm under pressure as you can imagine!

    Your wish is my command?

You can tack on a 207 GTi to complete the 20# GTi trifecta.

I guess going for a drive on the CCD saves having to get too carried away with the spit & polish.

Is there a "good time" to get to Whiteman Park, if you don't go early to show? When SWMBO came along with the kids the last time, they queued for 3/4hr and then had a long walk (for kids) to get to the display.

ohh i see, so we wont be making an apperance at the classic car show?

Its a pity thou, french cars should be involved in one of the few events a year. Last year it was scorching hot i know but the cars were visited a bit and its good to show them off to what is a mass of people that would other ways never come to say the french car day. Most people don't know any better than american and aussie muscle cars so its good to keep on introducing our french cars and their revolutionary engineering!!!!

None the less, if there is enough interest in the show i think we should attend, if not, im sure as hell just as happy to come along on the drive day!! I will be there with the GTi and the CTi.

Hey Luca, not to worry, the froggies are still on display with about 10 cars from ACE and the usual SIVA contingent. Also I assume the Pug club will be there? I have always felt it to be a great day but everyone gets sick of the heat. I'll be definitely in for next year as it moves to April and will most likely have decent temperature (or rain! LOL) Seems we are getting quite a bit of interest, good stuff!

If anyone is heading to Whiteman Park from the south do they want to travel in Convoy? I'll be leaving from Waikiki travelling across Safety Bay Road to the freeway then north to the city.

    Will arrange a time later.

Does anyone remember the route we travelled on the previous drive? (the one in February that rained) If someone could post up a route plan before the day that would be great. If we leave at 9am from New Norcia and go for an hours drive through the twisty stuff. We want to avoid getting caught in the traffic jam into the place which tends to happen up till 10am. Here is a link to the New Norcia location....

Any last minute converts? Come on people!

PM me and I can give you my mobile number for contact on the day.

Sounds good - even Whiteman Park might be tolerable, according to the forecast!

Maybe everyone could bring a few business cards, or sticky notes with their contact details, to share around? Might come in handy if anyone gets lost, or has mechanical issues.
