I just checked the wakefield calendar and the 25th seems to be a private booking.

as of today the following dates are the No speed limit dates for "Cars-Only" (mid April onwards)

    thursday 17th April
    wednesday 23rd April
    thursday 29th April

private booking dates (in case we get enought candidates) are:
    tuesday 24th April

I need to do the Luff's adv training 1st, then any of the above will do.

yes...looking at a new job at the moment which will require a car. Renaultsport Clio or Focus ST170 or Citroen Xsara VTS are on the cards if that happens.

Do you have the patience for the 206GTi180?

Clio seems the most fun, but the Focus is probably easier to live with if you need a little more space. For some reason, I never seem to hear much great about the Xsara VTS, which is odd, considering it has that 124kW engine.

The press says it has heavy steering and that's about it. They like it's handling. My only concern would be the depreciation on it and ifit's anything like the GTi6 I don't think I could make it my daily driver. I' be more comfortable driving the Focus or Clio as my everyday car. I didn't like driving the GTi6 EVERY day, it's too special for that, and way too moody in traffic.

Oh, and 206 GTI RC has to fix it's pedal placement to be a consideration.

Lincon after a while you will love the pedal placement of the 206 Gti's.
I know it seems just too close when you first jump in but after a while, ie 1-2 months, its awsome.
My mate hated them at first, but he loves the fact that he has to do so 'little' movement to reach any pedal, and left-foot braking is a breeze! Its wicked for the sporty kind of driving you do.
In everyday bumper-car traffic he can rest his foot on the floor and get all the clutch pedal travel he needs, so its good for that too.
HAVING WROTE ALL THAT!!, just go and get a new Clio Sport will ya!?? thats what id get.
    cheers

so, wil we see a new toy at the next track meet???, better get a move on son.

errr...depends on whether I get this new job or not...haven't even applied for it yet! But it will require a car, otherwise I'll be in taxis alot. So a lease of something will have to happen.

A mate has a 206 and wears different shoes to drive, that would be a major pain in the arse. I have big flat feet, and the 206 GTI just freaked me out when I drove it a number of times a few years back. Going for the brake and clipping the accelerator is just to dangerous. No problem in the Focus or Xsara...not sure about Clio, that car scares me...if I hop in it, I know I'll want one right away

Not possible, she won't sell it She's like me, she intends to keep it forever...so it's not going anywhere in the forseeable future. You're not pushing at all, it's all pie in the sky stuff at the moment, gotta see where the cards land before I decide on the car...if I need the room for clients, I'll have to look at something bigger anyway...

no luck on the new job fellas, no new car for me just yet. I was eyeing off a Xsara VTS, it made it to the top of the list before I had my chat with the employer. (It's not a bad thing, re: the job, was way over my head)
