    Qld......... Sunday Update.

When we all arrive down at QU on Sunday, short of running a mugshot gallery that could end up looking like "Australia's 10 most wanted," and as some of our members will be associated with their respective clubs, how about each member who intends being there, posts a pic of their car (probably better looking than the owners in lots of cases) so we can ID each other.
BTW, just heard off the TV that the weather forcast is showers Saturday increasing to rain on Sunday.
If it 'isses down, where do we head? Remembering I'll be at the end of a 400 klm trip so I'll need to know prior in case I end up in the middle of Nerang or somewhere.
Incidentally, I'll be in the Blue CX. I suspect though, that this will end up with the entire bloody fleet getting posted. deal cry

All your direction issues have been solved Alan.

    <img src="http://home.iprimus.com.au/bwjones/pictures/uq1.jpg" alt=" - " />

Entry is $10, dont worry about if you cdome late, you can get to our spot via the gree to the north of our spot.

Easiest way from North, Gateway->Kingsford Smith Drive->Inner City Bypass until you get to corronation drive (all the way at the end)-> take a right away from the city-> follow for about 2kms along the river, keep following another km until you see the UQ turn-off on the left, keep following, through 3 roundabout and turn right at the third and you are there.

The weather forecast I hear is showers easing (from Saturday) & may be a little windy.

I'm pretty sure there is an undercover car park as a back up. If that's the case we may need to run the inverter in the Berlingo all day to power our entertainment.

Was thinking of name tags for us...

I was thinking more about those who will be at say the Pug or Cit club sites as we wander around so we ID them via their cars. whistle

I hope you are joking Ray.

By no means is this Grand Display a money making excercise, the organiser, who I have had lengthy discussions with, is having to fork out to cover the cost of providing power, water, bins, rubish collection, lawn mowing, lighting, PA system, professional MC etc etc prior to the event in the hope that the $10 entry will cover his costs. The uni is running this like a business, and like any business is not out to loose money.

    And I'm not either...

My current financial position is such that $10 makes a big difference.

    Another year...

I'll be there in the silver CX Prestige in the CCCQ area, all being well. Just did a nice run to Toowoomba and back in it, so it should start on Sunday

Ray, $10.00 fee is only to bring your car into the display area, you can park in one of the free carparks close by, and enter the display for a gold coin donation. It's worth a look if your in the area, always a good turnout of 03's and 04's wink

Bruce, very much looking forward to seeing the Prestige

Anyone have any influence on the weather question

    Cheers

That certainly sounds more affordable... (it's dreadful to be stuck in a situation like this).

What time are we looking at?

If the weather stays as it has for the last few days - rain at night, sunny morning - rain late arvo it could be quite pleasant.

Did I read somewhere there was an inclement weather alternative?

If it's raining when the committee is setting up, it will most probably be the alternative, even though it may clear later in the morning frown

It wouldn't dare bloody well rain!!!!

anyhow, I'm almost ready to roll. Already made arrangements to meet someone at 5.30am Sunday to organise a bit of business before I leave, got a "picanick a basket" that would make Huckleberry Hound jealous cry all we need now is the oil change & bit of chrome polishing & the old CX is all systems go. snail

I've given my mobile number to phasis & greenblood so if one of those gents can oblige with a quick call if arrangements fall in a heap it will be most appreciated particularly if the venue is altered.
I am also bringing a CD to be played in the computer with a couple of froggy interesting items on it like the CXs in the Rally of Sennegal in 1979 which is really brilliant as well as a performance comparison from UK TV on a 2CV against a Land Rover wank tank over a 4WD course which should cheer 4 WD fans up no end. cry mallet dance
I'll leave a copy there & anyone interested in a copy feel free to organise one between yourselves.

Seeya Sunday, I'll be a bit busy between now & then..

Gerry and Chris...I probably won't make it out to the uni tomorrow. Not only do I have to give the Pug a thrice over, but I also have to test drive some 4x4's with a mate and pick up stuff from Neil.

I will be at the uni before 8am...say 7.45 to setup the 'shade structure' and organise power etc.

Ray, hope you can make it. I'll have to shout you a latte in light of my abruptness.

If you insist... but there's no obligation.

I'll have to see when I can get there... I also have to go to the Computer Market On Sunday at Strathpine... that's at 10am, so I'd say I'd be there about 11:30ish, then off to work at probably 2pm.
