Default Open Session @ Mallala - Friday 11th Nov.

A few of us are looking at having a burn at the open practice at Mallala on Friday 11th. Check out http://www.mallala.com/ for details.

Cost is $70 and you will need a helmet, long sleeve clothing and a fire extinguisher (gloves recommended too). There is usually 5 sessions of 15 minutes with an hour or so break between.

Definately, assuming I can get the time off work. Vehicular requirements? I guess I'd better start trying to find some decent tyres somewhere.

Hmmm, might be a bit too late notice for me...

I have no brakes at the moment.. and we all know how much Mallala kills them. I'm thinking of getting the Track Day Groove discs - but money is required elsewhere

Not sure about the fire extinguisher requirement (must be new). Some of the ECCA guys will be there. Haven't decided if I'm driving as I have to work in the afternoon but I'll definately be there even as a time keeper!

Yeah just checked - you don't need an extinguisher.

    I'd still take one

Yeah it's looking the same way for me, sorry Leigh. Will see if I can get some time off, though not looking good at the moment.

I'm not definitely out yet, just got to see if I can worm my way off work that day. 3rd Dec I'll be in Melb. 19th and 20th I'm marshalling at the Classic Adelaide. It's gonna be one of the biggest ones ever, heaps and heaps of Ferraris are entering.

Which stages you working on Jude? Are you a spectator, control or road marshall?

I'm doing the flying finish at: Gumeracha, Willunga Hill & Norton Summit. On Sunday I'm doing the "mystery timing point" for the regularity runners on Montacute.

Will be the 3rd year running that I've done the stages (with the exception of Montacute which I got roped into a couple of weeks ago)

I'm looking forward to the ferrari's!

I'm out on the 11th too. I've got a training course on the 11th now

James Hunt: Well that should put them out then!

Mike, I'm doing the flying finish as well! Not sure of the location though as a mate (the gt40 guy..he's trying to get a permit from transportsa to get the car up there) is organising it and I'll be doing that with him. Apparently they've got some new timing system so I'm going along on Saturday to one of the training sessions for it. Should be interesting. I'm looking forward to the Carerra gt..hope it's there this time.

Yeah the new timing system looks good - dont go saturday to the training -I got a phone call this arvo to say it's off - the gear is still sitting on the docks in melbourne. It's rescheduled on next sunday.

Anything would be an improvement over the timing system we used last year - It was sooooooooooo complicated it wasnt funny... This year should be a piece of cake in comparison!

Great day although with the race cars a clean lap was fairly infrequent. Still put down a 1.35 with my toyo's feeling tired.
