Default Official Thread Of End-of-year Melbourne Drive Day 2005

    gday,

this thread is is a follow-through orginated from expressions of interest coming from fellow frogger enthusiasts, here in melbourne, initiated by your own random101 .

    http://www.aussiefrogs.com/forum/sho...984#post266984

its been some months since weve organised a melbourne drive day. seems poigniant to have a drive day in celebration of the years end, and how else to celebrate it but with one last "official" drive, for the year.

drive days are the most casual and friendliest introduction (and many can attest to this) with the usual crowd, and an increasing number of newbies, attending.

some important details have already been finalised, as follows:

INITIAL MEET-POINT: usual healesville meet point. if anyone has a map of said meet-point please post. finalised.

MEET TIME: 09:30 with a departure of 10:00. early start wont kill you. opportunity to put in a good drive before some may need to leave the cavalcade early, and leaves plenty of time to venture through more roads, and gives us the opportunity to factor in lengthy chinwag sessions at pre-determined stops/photo opps. FULL DAY'S WACK.

ROUTE: begin at Healesville through to Marysville/Lake Mountain/Mount Donna Buang, and beyond. route thereafter will be finalised in due course.

date is still to be finalised. short listed dates are as follows:

    sunday 27th nov.

    sunday 4th dec.

    sunday 11th dec.

    please nominate preferred date/dates/whatever.

date is to be finalised by Mon 7th November, so let us know which date/dates you can attend.

if any of you have any issues or concerns or have any ideas re route after the dandenongs, lunch, etc or would just like to talk drivvle, please post.

please post of your confirmed interest, in attending, also.

organising melbourne drive days are the biggest brain damage, so your co-operation and attendance is greatly appreciated (sic!).

below is the list (thus far) of keen attendees:

    pugjet P205gti

    pug307 err pug307

    al unregistered P205gti/P405mi16

    random101 P206gti

    mistareno Rfuego

    purrr-geot P205gti

    stonefree P306gti6

    photomad? P205gti

    silverexec R25

    sergetov french car whore\

    bazgti P205gti

so far, a great group of regular and newer froggers have expressed keen interest. if this is the finalised list of attendees, it will still be an awesome day. if any of you would like to/have wanted to drive in a cavalcade of french cars through some of victorias greatest roads, please join us!

safe and responsible driving has always been a priority on our cruises, and this later installment will be even more so.

please dont miss out, as the next drive day will almost be certainly well into the new year! and besides organising melbourne drive days are the biggest brain damage!

    regards,

    Reggie

I voted for the 11th, but i'm not that stressed.

I'm looking forward to it anyway. My birthday is the 13th so perhaps we should kick on and hit the piss with the strippers... (as we never got around to it before)

Count me in for the 4th. I can't vouch for Rach obviously, but I am, sure she'll want to have a blat. Hopefully we can get her car serviced before then.

All the dates are probably okay for me, so no dramas there.

I actually intend to come in my own car this time Reggie!
(I know its a rice box, but I'll keep well out of your way....)

    And good work for organising!

I'd like to vote for Sunday the 11th of November - it's the only option I can make.

Can't do Sunday the 27th or the 4th due to other commitments.

Personally, I don't really think we need route maps, there are so many experienced people here and people just follow the leader. Anyway, how do you get lost on Reefton Spur, what, drive off the side of the road!

Thanks for getting the ball rolling Reggie!

According to the fairytales... No-one can attest to whether Richard stays within the lines of law - cos no-one can keep up with him!

hi mike, see what your oldies say. itd be great to have you, and your fam rock up. its never a race. safe and responsible driving is always a priority.

for those that wish a spirited drive, are up front and, those who wish to just cruise and enjoy scenery, follow behind. there is never any pressure. and there is never anything to prove except for wenault fwaggot drivers who obviously have a complex about their cars! (bait)

    everyone has a great time!

for me anyhow, the best part of the cruise is just to be in the company of like minded enthusiasts. how often does one drive in a cavalcade of other frenchies?! its a great feeling.

peeps with cars of varying description and condition are always represented, and always appreciated.

on one of our drive days, we had dj studd rock up in a 205gti on L-plates with his whole family in tow! and yah, dj studd's father is a wicked driver to boot!

p.s. you dont happen to live near the greythorn shops?

theres a home just off doncaster road that always has a silver 205gti, and a 306 parked out front.
