    Icon10 2005 Renault Round Up

    Renault Round Up
    10am - Sunday 6th November

The annual 'Renault Round-Up' is on again, so break out the car polish, drag the vacuum cleaner out of the shed and get your beastie ready.

The Renault Round-Up is an RCCV organised event but it's open to all Renault owners (whether club members or not) and although prizes are awarded, it’s not a concourse and Renaults of all condition are welcome to join in the day.

The day always draws a huge range of cars so come along drool over heaps of Renaults, Alpines, Gordinis and RenaultSports and chew the fat with other French Car Nuts...

This years Round-Up show will be held at the Yarra Valley Railway Park in the picturesque Healesville area (See Below)…

Apart from the Renault’s, there’s plenty to do and see nearby and of course there’s the fantastic Yarra Valley Railway to keep the kids amused.

How to get there (Melways map 278)

    Coming from Yarra Glen…
At the end of the Healesville -Yarra Glen Road turn right and follow the Kinglake Road in the direction of the Information Centre. Entry to the station is past the railway crossing on the left hand side opposite the Information Centre.

    Coming from Lilydale…
Entering Healesville, follow the Maroondah Hwy and turn left onto the Kinglake Road (2nd after the Shell petrol station). Entry is on the right hand side opposite the Information Centre.

    Coming from Marysville…
Entering Healesville follow the Maroondah Hwy through the town centre, turn right in the direction of Kinglake. Entry is on the right hand side opposite the Information Centre.

The grounds are near the Red Station on the map below..

    Default Renault Roundup (30th Anniversary

Just wanted to remind all the friends and owners of 16's that this year is the 30th Anniversary of the Renault 16.

Although mine is ratty, I'll be bringing mine along.. and its twin (Ed B's 16) will be there... hopefully we can get a good turn out of 16s..... Sarosa, hoping to see you there with your TX. Then there is the bare metal resto, early 16 that will put our cars all to shame.. Hope that will be there too.

Could we get a show of hands, for those bringing their 16's?
Would be interesting to know how many are still about.

Just a bit of a Renault Round Up update guy's.

There will be the prizes awarded in the following classes:

    50's
    60's
    70's
    80's
    90's
    00's
    ALPINE/GORDINI
    RENAULTSPORT -
    RCS/225
    BEST OF SHOW
    LOUIS RENAULT TROPHY -
    As voted by Renault Australia...

The cars will be judged by a group of independent judges and will be judged predominately on condition and cleanliness.

It is NOT a concourse and originality will only be used to seperate two cars of otherwise identical condition...

It looks like being a cracking day so make sure you get ya little beasties polished and vaccumed

    Run to the Round Up

How many Western/Northern suburb guys here are interested in a Run to Healesville to start the day off?

If there is enough interest, we could meet at Diamond Creek Train Station at around 7am and drive to Healesville via the twisty Heidelberg/Kinglake Rd - Kinglake/Healesville Rd - Myers Creek Rd...

If we depart Diamond Creek at 7.15 we should hit Healesville at about 8.30-9.00.

The show only kicks off at 10am but it should give you guys enough time to have some breaky in Healesville and give you cars a quick de-bug before the Round Up...

The weathers on our side, the cars washed and looking forward to a cruise up to Healsville, will be wearing the bugs like a campaign medal.

    Thanks Dale,

We didn't get in till later in the afternoon, as we had the babies with us, and even then didn't get to socialise much as to retreat from the sun under the shade of the trees. Gotta love black vinyl seats of the 16, on a hot day.

I hope the A310 is ok, after seeing it stopped in Healsville with the R5 being topped up with water.

I took some photos, and I will have them up shortly.

    David.

Thanks for the thought. It was actually the clutch that needed bleeding. The water was for cleaning up afterwards. And yes, it did get home fine after that.
